Well everyone I am pleased to announce that my friend Brooke has a new blog and everyone needs to go check it out, A Southern Girl Sounds Off. One of our favorite things to discuss the latest update on Kelly's Korner. I know if Kelly lived in Georgia she would be one of our friends. She also agrees that the SEC is the best football conference around. Is there any question? I think not. What do you think?
I myself am a huge Georgia fan. I was born a Georgia fan but I like to think even without this legacy I would still be a Bulldawg.

Finally!
Hello everyone!
As you can see I finally fixed my blog header. Thank you for being patient with me. Lisa sent me the correct sized header immediately but I dragged my feet about fixing it. So sorry!
Well, some of you may ask, why did you neglect fixing your blog header? Why have you not posted? Are you just lazy? Well, I have an excuse.....I love excuses. Wanna hear it?
I'm pregnant! Saturday will be 12 weeks and next Monday I go in for my 3 month check up. I am very excited and already showing a little - no comments about this please! Anyways, Bill and I are adjusting nicely to this new and exciting phase in our lives and look forward to what lies ahead.
Now, if I could only find a job!

Useless Information
Good Morning Friends!
I was thinking about some of the recent useless information that I've learned, I confirmed it myself first, and thought I would share it with you. I think I should preface this post by saying that I can be skeptical about some of the "trivia" that I hear, especially if Bill, my husband, agrees with me. Within the last couple of weeks we have heard 2 big "stories" that we were skeptical about.
The first story involves one of my good friends telling us that armadillos carry leprosy. This conversation began due to several dead armadillos being visible on road sides here in NorthEast Georgia. Now when I think of leprosy I think of a third world county or the play "The Untouchables." Wasn't Patrick Swayze in a movie about Leprosy? City of Joy, maybe? Anyways, this just sounded a little far fetched to me, so what did we do, we googled it .... and what did we find?
49, 300 hits....there is something to this armadillos and leprosy thing!
and after going to the Straight Dope it appears that armadillos do carry leprosy. Did you hear that? ARMADILLOS DO CARRY LEPROSY!
I stand corrected E, my friend, you were right and the moral of this story is?????? Don't let your kids touch an armadillo!
Useless trivia #2 involves a small lizard-like creature called a skink. My MIL's cat apparently has an affinity for these little creatures and has killed 2 within the week. Anyways, she had been told that they were endangered and that it was against the law to kill them. I'm getting a visual of Tippy in handcuffs. Well, that seemed a little unbelievable to me, the endangered part that is. I wasn't too concerned about Tippy behind bars......after all, they would have to catch him first.
Anywho, upon further investigation it appears that Skinks are only endanged in New Zealand, not in Georgia. GOT IT..... SKINKS ARE NOT ENDANGERED IN GEORGIA! I knew it.
OK, now what should we do with all this useless information....... file it away, you may get on Cash Cab one day!

Blog Update!
Ok, I actually may have some readers out there......maybe. I have two friends who are actually interested in helping me get my blog going which is really cool of them. My friend Brooke actually coined the name "The Harper House" when talking about my home and she has asked me if I've updated my blog, which I hadn't, so this ones for you Brooks! My friend Lisa made me an awesome header and sent me the directions on how to put it up. Putting up the header is going to be my next task. Thanks Lisa for sharing your talents with me. Not only is she good with blogs, but she is also very crafty and makes beautiful handbags. Go take a look at her site:

I guess this post is more than just a blog update, its about how blessed I have to have such awesome friends. Well, it's 10pm on Saturday night and I'm doing what I do most Saturday nights these days, sitting on the couch with my husband watching TV. 5 years ago that would have sounded lame, but I have to admit its not so bad!
